The current global pandemic requires modifying how Summer School will be conducted this year. We will be changing from meeting at the beautiful Waycross facility to conducting all classes online this year! It is a big change and we are still working to put the various aspects of the program together.
We are excited to announce that the heart of the summer school program will be a continuation of last year’s theme: “Walking Together on a Path Towards Race Unity and Oneness.”
Families and friends of the Faith will be accompanied by facilitators in small groups meeting online. The participants will develop, through several case studies and complementary creative activities, the capacity to study, consult, reflect, and act on how the most vital and challenging issue facing America – racial prejudice – can be systematically eliminated. The learning acquired is then taken back by the participants to reinforce and complement the community building institute process and core activities already happening at the grassroots. The learning environment will be facilitated online in four 90 minute sessions. These sessions are intended for children 8 and older, pre-youth, youth, and adults to study and consult together.
Our intention is for the first session or two to begin the weekend of July 24-26. However, a complete schedule for all four sessions has not been determined yet.
